My client are a leading worldwide brand in both Med-Dev, Pharma, Biologics and R&D.

Having completed the build and commissioning and commercial manufacturing stages of a new manufacturing facility in Dublin 15, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Facilities and Maintenance Engineer to join the team.

Job Description

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading the activities of the site Facilities, Utilities and Calibration teams. The Maintenance Engineer must ensure that all maintenance activities, calibrations and statutory inspection activities on all Facilities, Utilities and instrumentation systems are executed to schedule and in accordance with company and statutory requirements. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the management of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
A high level of enthusiasm and drive will be required in the role. Rigorous attention to detail and diligence is a key requirement, as it the ability to work collaboratively with different site functions.



•Leadership of the Facilities, Utilities and Calibration teams.

•Development, implementation and execution of the maintenance program for Facilities and Utilities systems, ensuring completion of preventative maintenance and sustaining equipment improvement activities.

•Oversight of the management of the instrumentation lifecycle.

•Management of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

•Management of maintenance performance metrics.

•Management of the equipment reliability programme.

•Management of spare parts and consumables.

•Ownership of standard operating procedures and maintenance routines.

•Planning and execution of maintenance shutdown activities.

•Management of the site Integrated Facility Management provider.

•Management of the maintenance operating expense budget.

•Improvement of Facilities and Utilities system compliance, performance and reliability through technical knowledge and people leadership.

•Identification and justification of improvement projects.

•Provision of support to Manufacturing Operations, Technical Operations and Quality teams.

•Management of the outside-hours on-call process.

•Investigation, using structured problem-solving techniques, of equipment performance deviations, including identification of root-cause and effective preventative actions.

•Implementation of equipment and process safety maintenance and inspection procedures.

•Provision of technical support in the implementation of site EHS policies.

•Participation in capital project teams through all phases of projects – conceptual design, detailed design, equipment procurement, construction, installation, start up, commissioning, qualification.


Qualifications and Experience

•Bachelor Degree in Engineering plus at least 7 years relevant experience in a cGMP commercial manufacturing environment.

•Evidence of continuous professional development.

•Team leadership.

•Experience in identifying priorities for assignment of resources and time.

•Experience in managing Utilities and Facilities systems in a GMP manufacturing environment. A deep knowledge of industry and regulatory minimum requirements and best practices is required.

•Experience of operating / managing a CMMS, preferable SAP.

•Direct experience of implementing equipment reliability principles and management programmes.

•Experience in the application of lean principles and structured problem-solving techniques.

•Budget management experience.

•Demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvement initiatives.
