Cpl are working with one of our long-standing client partners to support them with the recruitment of an accomplished Analytical Development Scientist for their OSD pharma manufacturing facility in Athlone

This is a full-time perm role to join a team of high perform Pharma R&D and Science professionals in an established Pharma Proprietary Drug and CMO manufacturing site in Athlone

The hiring Manager is now keen to review applications for a permanent full-time role of Analytical Scientist

The successful candidate will be key contributor to a highly success team of Analytical Scientists withing the R&D function and reporting to the Principal Scientist

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As one of the Analytical Scientists, you will support the development and utilisation of various analytical methods for characterisation of drug substance/drug product candidates from proprietary pipeline.

You will carry out phase appropriate method qualifications and validations and execute transfer to other departments/sites both in the Irish site and with some of the overseas sites.

You will need to plan, Investigate, and troubleshoot complex technical problems and participate in laboratory investigations with your colleagues and stakeholders across the wider business.

As one the experienced Analytical Scientists, you will need to lead specified projects.

When required, you will represent the department on cross functional teams.

You will be a subject matter expert in the Preparation and testing of proprietary drug product samples in accordance with written procedures and best practice with a focus to deliver the R&D pipeline.

You will have a proven ability and detailed skill level to make detailed observations, analyse data, interpret results and exercise appropriate technical judgment in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments.

Author for a number of various GMP and technical documents e.g. SOPs, Validation reports etc.

The Analytical Scientist will ensure accurate and timely recording of all information pertinent to the task being performed in the relevant electronic notebooks, equipment logbooks or laboratory worksheets.

You and the team will comply with all aspects of cGMP, Safety and Environmental regulations and Company policies, which impacts on doing the job and safety within the laboratory adhering to all safety/dress code procedures.

You will use your proven career expertise to help to offer a degree of coaching to junior staff.

Work with the sites in-house and contractor calibration teams to ensure all of the lab equipment is within spec and calibration settings.

The ideal candidate for this Analytical Scientist will have –

Requirements

At least a minimum of a scientific Bachelor’s degree (Analytical Chemistry/Physical Organic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical sciences or related field) and a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant industry experience

High levels of practical and theoretical knowledge of pharmaceutical analysis particularly in chromatographic techniques that includes HPLC and Method Delivery.

A comprehensive detailed understanding of GMP requirements and other FDA regulatory requirements associated with analytical testing of pharmaceutical products is desired.

You will be a proactive and innovative industry professional with excellent communication and good problem-solving skills.

Proven track record in your career as an Analytical Scientist to date in your current and previous roles.

You will be a results and performance driven professional.
