Job Description HVAC Technician / Plumber / Maintenance Technician leading Hospital in Dublin 9
Reports to: Technical Services Manager / Supervisor
Location: Technical Services Department

Cpl and our client partner are looking to source an experienced Trade Qualified Plumber / Pipe Fitter for a full-time position on day shift in one of Dublins north side hospitals.

This is an immediate hire role, it its a new full-time permanent position within the site facilities team and in the role, you will be required to provide Plumbing and general facilities support to the hospital campus.

You will report directly into the Hospital campus facilities manager and you will be part of a team of high performing skilled and trade qualified professionals.

Job Purpose

As the sites Plumber, in this role you will ensure that all plumbing requirements are carried out to the highest standards with minimal disruption to the hospital. Your main duties will be to undertake general Plumbing / Mechanical maintenance across the hospital campus on a day to day basis.
Your secondary duties are to support the team to check plant equipment daily, to ensure its smooth running and effective use to minimise disruption to the hospital. You will also be required to carry out ad-hoc general none-plumbing maintenance from time to time.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

To carry out daily P.P.M checks on plant equipment.
To be the Authorised Person on medical gases (when your appropriate training has been received).
To ensure legionella checks are carried out regularly and all steps are taken to ensure negative results.
To ensure the effective use of water treatment systems and you will also be asked to liaise with contract water treatment service providers.
The ensure the control of the Contractors work on site e.g. Hot Work Permits, isolating medical gases and ensuring correct procedures are followed.
To provide an on-call support service on a rota system.
To carry out day to day plumbing, fitting and mechanical repairs as required.
To provide feed back to Head of Department on completion of jobs and advice if there is a problem in completing a task.
To follow in-house policies, procedures and guidelines.
To ensure high standard of work and good housekeeping always.
To ensure that work areas are double locked at close of day.
To carry out day to day maintenance duties, which are assigned to you by the Technical Services Supervisor/Technical Services Manager.
To assign duties to appropriate staff when on annual leave and advise Technical Services Manager.
To implement quality standards ensuring that a quality service is provided all times.
To undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required.

Qualification and experience need in the Plumber role

You will Have obtained a passed leaving certificate or equivalent and it is necessary that you Have completed a FS or equivalent approved plumbing apprenticeship.
You will ideally have 5 years prove relevant experience after completion of the course.
Previous experience working in a live hospital environment would be desirable or alternatively you will have proven experience of working on sites where high levels of process controls and safety are paramount
Previous experience working on Medical gas systems is desirable.
Previous work experience on a RO plant and good solid proven experience on Boilers, Chillers, Steam plants etc is also necessary
Experience working with Copper, Marley, ABS and Chemical resistant pipework required.
Wide knowledge of plumbing and Mechanical systems is essential to this role.
Understanding of Legionella and how to prevent it are essential.
Basic computer skills required.
