Operations Manager – Production

 

Primary OBJECTIVE

The Operations Manager will be Responsible for the effective management of the facility to ensure product quality and business measures are met, whilst also maintaining effective people management and development and vigilance in protecting employee health and safety.

Maintain a sound working relationship with key customers both internal and external through regular communication.

 

DUTIES

People and Team

  • Overall people management for the facility
  • Providing leadership development, coaching and motivation
  • Strategic workforce planning including resourcing
  • Recruitment and retention of staff
  • Performance reviews and career development for direct reports
  • Managing escalated staff counselling and conflict resolution
  • Oversight of training and development plans
  • Oversight of implementation of EHS policies and procedures
  • Operations
  • Budget Management (capital, overhead and headcount)
  • Long term business objectives
  • Process and productivity improvement
  • Facility and equipment management

 

Quality

  • Ensure quality standards and procedures are being maintained
  • Audit involvement
  • Oversight of QA incidents and investigations
  • Customer
  • Customer Business /Operational Reviews
  • Manage customer relationships
  • Seeking business opportunities
  • Liaising with Sales and Marketing team
  • Management
  • Point of escalation for all matters
  • Developing, prioritising and maintaining business and operational strategies

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KRA’s) & KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI’s)

  • Financials Site Labour, overhead and material cost indicators/Sales
  • Quality Compliance Quality Indicators/Audit outcomes
  • Process and Productivity Improvement Project results/Overtime
  • Employee Satisfaction Retention/engagement/Pulse Survey
  • Customer Satisfaction Customer Satisfaction and level of complaints
  • EHS LTI’s/Recordables

 

 

 

 

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Pharmaceutical Degree, Science Degree or approved equivalent qualification
  • Leadership and Management skills (minimum 3 years’ experience)
  • Sound decision making skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal/external customers
  • Negotiation skills

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • Sound business acumen
  • Experience in aseptic compounding
  • Knowledge of the Code of Good Manufacturing Practice
  • Strong presentation skills
