Warehouse Inventory Manager Westmeath

The Head of Warehouse / Inventory owns the warehouse facility and is responsible for the supply to the factory floor and undertakes robust daily, weekly and monthly planning and coordination to ensure that all the necessary resources and components are in place to achieve production KPI’s and ultimately deliver components on time and in full to internal and external customer deadlines. They will;

• Lead and manage a team of Goods inwards – Outwards – Kit building Operators, ensuring they have the relevant skills, capabilities, tools and support to perform in their roles through, training and development processes where required.

• Deliver a plan for the component supply function that ensures the company will deliver on its production commitments within allocated budget, people resources, targets and timeframes.

• Be accountable for creating and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for your team by ensuring full adherence to best practice systems and processes.

• Engender a positive team relations climate with proactive management of communication, participation and engagement activities.

• Lead a programme of continuous improvement for the Warehouse department using principals and methodologies of Lean, to ensure systems and processes are optimised, fit for purpose and driving efficiency and effectiveness in terms of quality, waste elimination and cost, utilising Lean methodologies.

• Analyse inventory additions requested for stock and specific customer requirements and Coordinate with departments to ensure stock is maximised to full potential

• Strategically find new solutions to maximise space, improve processing time for goods coming in and kitting time to send materials to the production facility.

• Manage and execute monthly and annual accurate stock counts during factory down time and investigate variances to reconcile with MRP System and monthly accounts

Key Performance Indicators for the Head of Warehouse / Inventory Manager
• Increase the throughput and operating efficiency from the department
• Reduce the number of non-conformities and or factory operative complaints related to late delivery of components from the department and products supplied
• On-time delivery to internal schedule.

Person Specification:
Qualifications:
• Educational/Professional qualification in Component Distribution / Warehousing and Stock control.
• Deep knowledge of Stock control function and execution of best practices accordingly.
• Knowledge of relevant quality and safety standards.
• Knowledge in Lean, methodology and application of same

Experience:
• Experience in SME Manufacturing company, or related industry, with strong knowledge of JIT Manufacturing systems, operations and standards required.
• At least 4 years’ experience in Warehouse / Inventory management role.
• Strong evidence of delivering results in a fast paced operational setting and successful continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage and develop high performance teams.
• Experience managing positive team relations

• Highly organised.
• Hands on, can work in the detail and also take strategic view.
• Ability to work to deadlines with good prioritisation, planning and organisational skills.
