Maintenance Supervisor - Navan

Cpl are working with our client partner who are a heritage brand name in the insulation manufacturing business.

The company which was established in Ireland 30 years ago, has recently merged with a global leader in the insulation industry and they are now part of an 8,000 strong workforce across 105 countries.

As the business continues along a path of rapid growth with a significant expansion plan now in place, they are currently recruiting an experienced Engineering / Maintenance Supervisor to lead the team in their manufacturing facility in Navan.

 

This is a full-time perm job opportunity working on a day shift

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The Engineering Maintenance Supervisor will:

 

  • Lead a team of 9 skilled and high performing maintenance technicians
  • Coach and mentor, the maintenance technician team and support continuous learning and development of the technician team.
  • Champion a ‘Culture of Curiosity’ and promote open communication and engagement.
  • Be Situationally Aware in terms of equipment conditions and use available resource pool to prioritise and address equipment conditions and performance issues in real-time.
  • Have line side presence and visibility to understand equipment performance related issues.
  • Use the maintenance team resources, and skillset combined with data and standard problem-solving structures to improve whole system performance.

 

  • Coordinate and schedule technician rosters and manage time and attendance system
  • Coordinating shift cover for planned / un-planned absences and pre-approved vacation time off and managing the shift-to-shift handover meetings across the manufacturing areas.
  • Own training for maintenance team members, identifying training gaps and compliance to existing On-the Job training plans (OJT) and updating OJT’s as required.
  • Be active in the recruitment process within the maintenance technician function.
  • Develop, document and communicate out on annual maintenance team performance objectives.
  • Adhere to all company and legislative health, safety and environmental requirements linked to site goals.
  • Work safely and promote a positive safety culture with active participation in Safety Walks focusing on Situational Awareness. Support compliance to the Safe Plan of Action (SPA) process prior to maintenance interventions.
  • Support Corrective and Preventative fixes for actions identified during safety walks and ensure actions assigned are followed up and closed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure Right First Time approach is taken when executing technical protocols and the verification of product quality prior to handing back equipment to manufacturing.
  • Coordinate all planned (PM) and unplanned maintenance activities, ensuring safety mitigation, task sequencing and ownership is clear to all maintenance team members ahead of work commencing.
  • Feedback on critical spares concerns and stock levels to support equipment availability and uptime.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering, Manufacturing and Technical Services projects teams to ensure that all new products and projects are introduced in compliance to site standards and are operationally successful.
  • Actively monitor equipment waste levels across all process platforms and use data to develop a real-time understanding of root cause and potential solutions. Feedback observations to the Manufacturing Engineering team.

About Your Skills & Experience

 

  • Senior Trade Qualification / National Diploma / Relevant Engineering Degree,
  • Hands on practical experience of manufacturing would be an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills across departments and functions.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent customer relations’ skills and an ability to satisfy demanding customer requirements in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven experience as maintenance supervisor or similar role with demonstrated ability in developing and coaching a technical team.
  • Demonstrated track history of implementing improvements in previous roles.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong decision-making and structured problem-solving practices.
  • Excellent planning and leadership abilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of maintenance and calibration best practice.
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
