Flexsource is currently recruiting Production Operatives for our client based in Baltinglass, Co. Wicklow. The Production Operator works as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product. The tasks will vary based on business necessity.

KEY RESULT AREAS/RESPONSIBLITIES:

• To adhere to the weekly production schedule and to build the order quantity stated on the production Works Order for each production build. This will result in fulfilling customer orders and to ensure that the stocking levels of finished goods are managed in a cost effective manner.

• To communicate with the area supervisor and the other personnel in the production department in an effective manner such that issues are resolved on a day to day basis and the area is manned in an appropriate manner.

• To maintain a clean working area on the production floor. Participate in lean/ 5s initiatives. 

• To comply with company standard operating procedures and policies for the production area and also the quality systems within the area.

• Produce products in compliance to our quality systems and BOM.

• To follow Health and Safety requirements within the production department and liaise with the Health and Safety representative or Area Supervisor of concerns or issues which may or could lead to a potential health and safety issue within the area. Participate in formulation of risk assessments and SOPs when required.

• To be able to adapt and meet levels required within all areas of the production training profiles and be flexible and willing to take part in job rotation within the department. Provide support and guidance to new staff when needed.

• To attend all relevant communication meetings within the company to ensure an awareness of issues within the production area and the business as a whole.  

• To ensure that reporting of production activities – machine problems and quality concerns accurately and in timely fashion to your production supervisor.

• To use tools and equipment in a responsible and appropriate manner.

• To be able to work as part of an assembly line team and must be able to do repetitive tasks without making errors.

• To be able to possess a strong hand – eye coordination and have the ability to operate various assembly tools.

• To ensure the correct assembly of a unit, and minimize time, material and wastage.

• Flexibility to work in other departments or in other roles as customer demand requires. Perform other duties as assigned

JOB COMPLEXITY / REQUIREMENTS:

• Good positive approachable attitude,

• Willing to work overtime when required and ability to work to tight deadlines.

• The ability to work within a team and be a valuable team player.

• To complete documentation as necessary for record\traceability purposes

• To show initiative and a willingness to improve the operation of the production department in a proactive manner and be willing to share improvement suggestions

• Maintain a high level of alertness and accuracy in execution of tasks

 QUALIFICATIONS \ EXPERIENCE

• Experience in Manufacturing environment is an advantage but is not essential.

EHS considerations for this role:

Activities include the following tasks..

1. Riveting

2. Wheel press

3. Assembly (manual and using power drive)

4. Nuttling operation

5. Product packing

6. Tapping operation

7. Rubber cutting operation

Minimal lifting/ manual handling activities are undertaken and only within individual’s limit/ capabilities. Lifting equipment is provided and staff trained on manual handling techniques at regular intervals.

Adequate lighting and appropriate seating/ bench setup to ensure good ergonomics. Footrests are available.
